ISM – InternationaleSüßwarenmesse is held annually in Cologne, Germany for over 50 years. This event brings together many international companies, brands and decision-makers from the confectionery, chocolate, biscuit, snack foods, pastry and bakery industries.
In 1971, several significant events occurred: the inauguration of the Aswan Dam in Egypt, McDonald’s opening its first branch in Germany, and the introduction of uniform Eurocheques in Western Europe. It was also the year the first International Sweets and Biscuits Fair (ISM) debuted in Cologne, marking the start of a global success story for the sweets industry.
Initially a “spin-off” of Anuga, the world’s leading food and beverage trade fair, ISM began modestly with 351 exhibitors and 5,800 trade visitors. Despite its small start, it quickly became a key event, evolving into the most important global platform for ordering and information in the sweets industry.
ISM Cologne attracts wholesalers, foreign traders, importers, confectioners, online retailers, and suppliers for out-of-home markets, food services, and service station chains.
