Why Exhibit at InnoTrans 2026
InnoTrans is where the rail and transport technology sector meets, the most important few days in the industry’s two-year cycle.
- The whole rail value chain in one place. Operators, rolling-stock OEMs, infrastructure and signalling suppliers, public transport authorities and ministries walk the halls, so the decisions that move rail projects happen here.
- A biennial calendar that raises the stakes. InnoTrans runs only every two years, so each edition carries two years of buying intent and your stand has to land the first time.
- A floor built for real engineering, indoors and out. From rolling stock on live track to interiors, signalling and tunnel technology, InnoTrans rewards stands that can show working hardware, not just brochures.
- A hall full of world-class competition. At InnoTrans your stand sits beside the biggest names in transport technology, so design and build quality decide who gets remembered.
- One accountable partner at Messe Berlin. As exhibition stand builders in Berlin, XDS handles design, build, logistics and on-site delivery, including the heavy-exhibit and track access a rail show demands.

Planning Timeline for InnoTrans 2026
Great InnoTrans stands are planned months out. Here is how a typical project runs, working back from opening day on 22 September 2026:
As early as possible: secure your stand partner and start design. InnoTrans is biennial, so prime space and build slots go early.
Around six months out: design freeze, 3D concept, revisions and sign-off.
Around two months out: technical approvals and service orders in (rigging, electrics, water, waste).
Pre-show weeks: production in our facilities.
15 to 21 September 2026: build-up at Messe Berlin, with all structural work finished by 15:00 and decoration by 18:00 on 21 September, the day before opening.
22 to 25 September 2026: show open, with our team on-site.
25 to 30 September 2026: breakdown, starting from 16:00 on 25 September.
Build-up and breakdown windows follow the official InnoTrans exhibitor timetable.
Consultations for IFA 2026 are being scheduled now. The earlier we start, the more of the timeline works in your favor.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does an InnoTrans exhibition stand cost?
Custom stands typically start in the mid five-figure range (EUR), depending on size, complexity and services. We provide transparent, itemized pricing from the first proposal, so you can see exactly what each element costs, with no surprises before or after the show.
How early should we book for InnoTrans?
InnoTrans is biennial and space fills early. We recommend starting six to nine months out so design, approvals and production all sit inside comfortable windows.
Do you handle Messe Berlin's technical approvals?
Yes. We prepare and submit the venue technical documentation and handle service orders (rigging, electrics, water, waste) as part of the build. For rail exhibits we also plan around the track-access window (18 to 28 September) so heavy pieces are positioned on time.
